Little Round top-
- July 2
- Little Round Top was a perfect place to have because from the top, you could see all of Gettysburg
- confederates originally planned to surround the Union army
- on their way, they ran into some Union soldiers ; if the Confederate's could get past these soldiers, they would be able to surround the Union
- the Union held their ground until they ran out of amunition
- Colonel Joshua L. Chamberlain ordered the Union soldiers who were out of amunition to use their bayanets and charge the Confederate troops
-the Confederate's then retreated and Little Round Top was still in the Unions position
-Saved the Union from loosing the battle
Pickett's Charge
-July 3
-the Confederate infantry charged the Union hoping that the Union would retreat
--started with 15,00 Confederate soilders, ended the charge with 10,000 casualties
-In only 50 minutes, 2/3 of Pickett's division were casualties

Overall significance:

Turning point of the Civil War.
Most recognized battle of the Civil War.
